As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in providing kitchen support through completion of cleaning tasks as well as organising stock and general maintenance of kitchen hygiene.
This is a permanent, full time position working shifts covering Monday - Sunday.
You will work with our Head Chef or Chef at all times, and will ensure the following tasks are being completed:
* Keep all cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils washed and clean.
* Assist the Chef in making sure the kitchen is clean and always sanitised.
* Keep all cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils washed and clean.
* Sweep and mop the floors.
* Assist the team in putting receiving goods away, rotating stock, disposing of out-of-date items, documenting product temperatures where appropriate e.g., on delivery of chilled or frozen items.
* Make sure cleaning schedules, procedures and forms are filled out.
* Make sure the pot wash is cleaned regularly.
* Make sure dirty aprons, towels etc. are taken to the laundry room to be washed daily.
* Take out the garbage/recycling from the kitchen.
* Make sure all sinks and blue roll dispensers are fully stocked.
* Follow cleaning rota and ensure all tasks are completed.
Skills & requirements
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be a team player with a positive, caring attitude, equipped with good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. While previous kitchen or catering experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory as training will be provided and a full induction given.
We do ask that all candidates have an awareness of the food hygiene standards, and possessing a Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not required.
