As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly organised and commercially aware Production & Material Controller to ensure our products are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest quality standards.
About the Role
You will own the end-to-end flow of materials and production, acting as the critical link between Manufacturing and Supply Chain. Your focus will be to ensure the right parts are in the right place at the right time, balancing production schedules, WIP control, capacity planning, and procurement coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
* Build and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS)
* Create daily and weekly schedules to meet OTIF targets
* Sequence jobs to optimise efficiency and minimise changeovers
* Balance production loading and capacity, escalating issues where required
* Lead daily shop floor review meetings to monitor performance
* Raise and manage Works Orders (ensuring BOM/revision accuracy)
* Monitor WIP status and update MRP accordingly
* Maintain accurate production data within ERP/MRP systems
Material & Shortage Management
* Generate kit lists and support kitting/packaging
* Proactively identify and escalation material shortages
* Work with Purchasing on PO priorities, allocations, and lead times
Subcontract & Logistics Coordination
* Manage despatch of component kits to sub-assembly partners
* Generate and manage shipping documentation
* Ensure compliance with ESD and MSL requirements
* Lead annual stock checks and reconcile discrepancies
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across Operations
About You
* Experience in Manufacturing Planning or Production Control, ideally in electronics or SME manufacturing
* Strong ERP/MRP system knowledge
* Excellent data literacy and analytical skills
* Comfortable reading BOMs, drawings, work instructions, and managing revisions
* Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination
* Exposure to Lean, 5S, Kanban, SMED, S&OP, or capacity modelling
* Experience in configuration control
* Knowledge of electronics manufacturing supply chains
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline
* Or HNC/HND with relevant industry experience
