We’re looking for a proactive Site Engineer (Earthworks & Drainage) to join our construction team on the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. You’ll play a key role in delivering major earthworks and drainage packages, including bulk earthworks, cut & fill operations, and highway drainage, as part of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes.
This position is ideal for an engineer seeking hands-on experience on a major civil engineering project, working alongside a highly skilled and collaborative delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of earthworks and drainage works, including setting out, surveys, and QA checks
Support bulk earthworks, cut & fill, formation, and drainage installations
Ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with drawings and specifications
Prepare and manage ITPs, method statements, and technical documentation
Support the Section Engineer and Site Manager in coordinating daily site activities
Liaise with subcontractors, designers, and other engineering disciplines
Maintain accurate site records, including as-built documentation
Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental management
About You
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience as a Site Engineer on earthworks and drainage packages within civil or infrastructure projects
Sound knowledge of setting out, QA processes, and earthworks/drainage construction techniques
Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Valid CSCS card and relevant safety training certifications
