The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will play a key role in the work of the research group of Dr Nicholas Ktistakis by conducting research, introducing new ideas, disseminating research results, and supporting and training others. More specifically, the post holder will generate stocks of iPS cells (wild type and various mutants), make stocks of NSCs, and finally make stocks of day 7 neurons (cortical-like) to be used in downstream experiments. The work will also involve preparing iPS-derived neuronal cells for single cell sequencing, and an optional aim would be exploring strategies for generating “aged neuronal cells”
This is a limited term appointment with funding for this post expected to be available until 30/09/2026.

Applicants must hold a PhD or have their thesis submitted when commencing the post. Please note that you will be appointed on the starting salary of £34,500 per annum, if you have not yet been awarded your PhD. All newly appointed postdocs will commence on the salary/scale point that reflects the number of years' post-PhD experience they hold on 30th June in the calendar year they commence employment.
