Job Description:
Materials Management Senior Advisor (Warehousing)
At bp, we are transforming the way materials move through our business, and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of that change. As our Materials Management Senior Advisor (Warehousing), you will help shape how we design, manage, and continuously improve the way materials are stored and delivered across our global operations. This is a role where your expertise truly influences how we work—and where your ideas can turn into real impact
What you will do
In this position, you will guide the development of our global warehousing strategy and ensure that we operate safely, efficiently, and consistently across all regions. We work closely with our regional teams and partners, and you will play a key role in helping us translate strategy into practical, effective solutions.
You will collaborate with colleagues across Materials Management, Inventory, Logistics, and Operations to enhance the overall performance of our warehousing network. Beyond day-to-day oversight, you will also lead improvement initiatives that help us simplify processes, strengthen governance, and support teams at site level.
Key areas of focus include:
· Shaping a global warehousing strategy that supports our wider business direction and reflects the realities of our operating environments.
· Improving warehouse performance by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce cost, enhance safety, and increase service reliability.
· Strengthening governance by developing guidance materials, building KPIs, reviewing compliance results, and supporting self-verification and oversight activities.
· Leading warehousing projects that address layout, optimisation, and service improvements across multiple regions.
· Building strong partnerships with internal teams and external providers so we can deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for the business.
We work as one global team, and you will often be the link connecting regional operational insights with broader strategic decisions.
What you will need to succeed
We are looking for someone with strong senior-level experience in warehousing or materials management, who understands the operational realities of logistics environments and can translate that knowledge into practical improvements. You will bring strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence decisions at different levels of the organisation, as well as a solid understanding of safe warehousing practices and risk management.
Experience with systems such as SAP, along with formal project management capability (PMP, PRINCE2), will help you succeed in this role. Professional certifications such as CIPS, APICS, or CPM are beneficial but not essential.
Why join us?
We believe this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the way bp manages materials across the globe. You will work with teams who are passionate about safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, and you will have the freedom to bring forward ideas that challenge the status quo. We value curiosity and collaboration, and we encourage people to shape the direction of their work. This is a place where your expertise will be recognised—and where your decisions will matter
