Job Overview

This post is fixed term/secondment until 31st March 2026 due to the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Smoking Cessation Practitioner to be part of the integrated smoking cessation service in the BCUHB area. You will positively influence smokers who want support to quit. You will be responsible for providing intensive behavioural support and advice to clients who want to stop smoking. You will work effectively with other clinical staff and the wider HMQ team to ensure patients receive pharmacotherapy to support their quit attempts.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with clients to make positive behaviour changes. You should also have excellent organisational skills and be able to maintain accurate, confidential client records. We are looking for someone willing to work flexibly and help develop the service. Further specific training in smoking cessation will be provided if required.

This role is available as a fixed term or secondment. It is a full-time position mainly within the HMQ Mental Health team across Conwy and Denbighshire.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
