We are looking for a Practitioner Psychologist, Psychotherapist or Psychological Therapist to join the Staff Support team at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, on a 12 month maternity cover contract. This post involves supporting the continued development, implementation and evaluation of the Post Incident Pathway, ensuring systematic and consistent access to evidence-based interventions for all staff following trauma exposure in the workplace. The post holder will lead on the Post-Incident workstream within Staff Support, including managing the Critical Incident Staff Support offer, offering individual assessment and treatment and working closely with the other project leads to support staff across the Trust. There will also be scope to have some input into our other Staff Support projects (including Schwartz Rounds, Reflect, Support and Resolve and Team Support Plans). We are seeking a candidate who can effectively engage stakeholders and lead projects at an organisation-wide level.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and demonstrable ability to run multiple projects simultaneously and at scale, delivering both on target and on time. They must be skilled in designing and delivering training, providing consultation and must be able to deliver both Trauma Focused CBT and EMDR on an individual treatment basis. The candidatemust be hard working and able to take initiative whilst holding strong ‘team-player’ values. Experience working in staff support, awareness of the impact of trauma on healthcare staff, narrative or systemic therapy training and project management experience are highly desirable. The post holder will also have management experience and leadership skills.

Working for our organisation
Corporate Psychology and Psychotherapy (Corp P&P) oversees the standards of psychology and psychotherapy in SLaM. It has strong links to other disciplines and services. The governance of the provision, assessment and delivery of psychological interventions within the trust for both patients and staff are held under Corporate Psychology and Psychotherapy. As a department we are made up of skilled staff members from Psychology and Nursing backgrounds with lots of different expertise.
Within Corp P&P we have a programme of projects which are working to address both local and national priorities through workforce, quality improvement and service development projects. Using a project management approach the work loosely falls under three workstreams, Staff Support, Psychological Workforce and Enabling Service Improvement. Examples of recent projects include; developing psychologically based approaches in acute and crisis care, developing and implementing staff support initiatives, including the Trusts Critical Incident Staff Support (CISS) service, work in Global Mental Health and developing workforce initiatives for aspiring and qualified psychologists and psychotherapists (e.g training events; diversifying the workforce).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
·To support the continued development, implementation and evaluation of the Staff Support Post Incident Pathway, ensuring systematic and consistent access to evidence-based interventions for all staff following trauma exposure in the workplace.
·To take a project management approach to the planning and implementation of the Staff Support Post Incident Pathway and associated evaluation activities.
·To support trauma-informed approaches to supporting staff across the organisation, identifying opportunities to embed this within Trust strategy and policy.
·To develop and maintain appropriate governance structures related to the Staff Support Post Incident Pathway.
·To provide regular reports to commissioners and other stakeholders.
·To proactively seek and identify possible opportunities for further funding and service expansion.
·To ensure that staff support is accessed by the most marginalised and ‘at risk’ groups, encouraging a preventative approach to workplace mental health and wellbeing.
·To support the development of psychologically safe work environments across the Trust.
·To receive and provide training, clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate to the role.
·To ensure that effective systems are in place for the clinical/professional supervision and support of multidisciplinary staff within the Staff Support team.
·To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional leads and to decide how they are best achieved.
·To undertake service evaluation, audit, research and policy development.
·To work as an autonomous professional within professional guidelines and codes of conduct, guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.

·To ensure equitable access to the Post Incident Pathway across the Trust and to provide active in reach where needed.
·To work across the different Trust sites to develop and ongoing relationship with staff and managers
·To work on the expansion of the Post Incident Pathway and to focus on the roll out of the Trauma Informed Operational Debrief (TIOD) following its initial pilot
·To work closely with People and OD colleagues and think about the systems and impact on trauma in the workplace
·To work in partnership with academic institutions to develop innovation in this area.

Qualification
Essential criteria
1. • Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (Professional Doctorate or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration (A/I) •Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
2. • Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses, or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice–based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice, assessed by an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equal level to a Postgraduate Diploma. 3. •Completed EMDR training to at least Level 3 and experience in providing EMDR
