SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – English & Maths)
Location: Plymouth
Start Date: February 2026
Hours: Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:30 pm
Pay: £90–£100 per day
Expenses: All expenses reimbursed
Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored 1:1 Maths and English interventions outside of the mainstream classroom
* Support pupils with additional needs, including those requiring emotional and behavioural guidance
* Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress
* Work independently across locations within Plymouth (mileage reimbursed)
* Maintain accurate records and collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or alternative provision
* Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, empathetic approach
* Good understanding of SEND, including ADHD, ASD, and SEMH
* Confident communication and ability to build strong professional relationships
* Confidence delivering Maths and English at Key Stage 2 level
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
