With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, Warwick, and a new purpose-built HQ in Windlesham, the Gordon Murray Automotive team continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. We currently have exciting opportunities for a Production Technician to join our Manufacturing Team based in Windlesham.

Production Technicians within GMA are responsible for daily production to produce high-quality vehicles across all models undertaken by Gordon Murray Automotive. In this role, you will be part of the team that assembles production vehicles at a low-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation and help us start up our brand-new manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish strong team member relations, at all levels, with a focus on teamwork and inclusion.
2. Work closely with the GMA team, especially Manufacturing Engineering team members.
3. Operate machinery on a low-volume production line.
4. Conduct quality checks for defects and label finished products.
5. Load/unload and assemble parts, ensuring parts are allocated correctly.
6. Work towards production targets.
7. Support cycle time change planning, line rebalancing, trials, and training activities.
8. Assist with new model activities.
9. Accurately record data into the build book/log, including torque and serial number recording.
10. Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, identify irregularities, and prescribe corrective measures.
11. Support shop safety initiatives and implement countermeasures to resolve problems.
12. Participate in problem-solving activities within the team.
13. Identify waste in assembly processes and implement efficiency improvements.
14. Be available to work overtime and travel as needed.
15. Collaborate with GMA and GMA Engineering members to improve manufacturing processes.
16. Basic computer literacy in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
17. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with others.
18. Perform general housekeeping duties as required.


Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

* Strong team relationship skills, focused on teamwork and inclusion.
* Experience operating machinery on a low-volume production line.
* Ability to conduct quality checks and label products accurately.
* Experience with assembly, loading/unloading parts, and inventory management.
* Ability to support production targets and process improvements.
* Support for cycle time planning, line balancing, and new model activities.
* Data recording skills, including torque and serial numbers.
* Adherence to SOPs and safety standards.
* Problem-solving skills and waste reduction initiatives.
* Flexibility to work overtime and travel.
* Collaborative approach to process improvement.
* Computer literacy in basic Office applications.
* Effective communication skills.
* Willingness to perform housekeeping duties.
