A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing procurement activities across multiple UK sites, ensuringpliance, cost optimisation, and supplier performance.
Your new role
Site & Operational Procurement
• Manage all third-party procurement spend at the assigned site(s).
• Build strong relationships with Account Directors, Plant Operations, and Maintenance Managers to support operational and capital procurement.
• Ensure procurement policies and processes are followed, minimising risks and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee procurement for maintenance and engineering projects, including shutdowns and capital investments.
Project Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
• Support multi-million-pound procurement categories across sites, including:
• Miscellaneous site procurement
• Project procurement (shutdowns, upgrades, CAPEX)
• Conduct tendering, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and implementation.
• Drive supply base consolidation and long-term value creation.
Category Management Support
• Work closely with Category Procurement Managers to ensure site-level procurement aligns with broader strategic sourcing goals.
• Contribute to managing key procurement categories, such as:
• Engineering & Technical Procurement – Fabrication, scaffolding, mechanical fitters, motors, hydraulics.
• Non-Engineering Procurement – Waste offtake & logistics, plant hire, raw materials, indirects (soft FM, IT, etc.).
• Site-specific services – Refractories, electrical services, industrial cleaning, boiler maintenance.
• Provide spend analysis and cost-saving initiatives, targeting at least 1% savings on miscellaneous procurement and 10% cost avoidance on project procurement.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
• Ensure clearmunication and alignment with site leadership and central procurement.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance, ensuring delivery quality and contractpliance.
• Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure SOXpliance and ethical procurement.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Experience in procurement within engineering, construction, waste, or energy sectors (desirable)
2. Experience managing procurement for CAPEX projects, shutdowns, and technical services.
3. Demonstrated ability to optimise supplier contracts and drive cost savings.
4. Experience working across multi-site procurement operations
5. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
6. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
8. Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
9. Effectivemunication and presentation skills
10. Experience using SAP, SourceDogg, or other procurement platforms.
11. Understanding of category management, sourcing, and supplier onboarding.
12. Familiarity with spend analysis and cost reduction strategies.
What you'll get in return
