The Role
As a Senior Medical Copywriter, you will be a trusted senior member of the medical copywriting team. You will lead on key accounts, translating complex clinical data into persuasive, audience-appropriate copy that supports healthcare professional understanding and influences patient care.
You will:
* Lead medical copywriting on major accounts and campaigns
* Mentor and manage junior and mid-level medical copywriters
* Shape communication and experience concepts that bring clinical data to life
* Collaborate closely with creative, account, and scientific teams to ensure medical and creative alignment
* Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and quality across all outputs
* Advise clients on medical narratives, portfolio messaging, and content strategy
Your work spans print, digital, social, web, AR/VR, and other emerging technologies, giving you the opportunity to explore new channels while applying your scientific expertise.

Key Responsibilities
* Write persuasive, accurate, and audience-appropriate copy for multiple formats and channels
* Interpret and translate clinical trial and real-world data into clear, engaging messaging
* Maintain medical oversight and ensure compliance with regulations
* Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, supporting their development
* Build strong relationships with clients, account leads, and cross-functional teams
* Contribute to strategic planning, pitch development, and portfolio messaging
* Manage multiple projects with resilience, escalating issues appropriately
* Maintain subject-matter expertise in assigned brands and therapeutic areas
Requirements
* Solid scientific background (bachelor’s degree in life sciences, 2:1 or above)
* Proven experience in medical copywriting with responsibility for high standards across multiple accounts
* Expertise in healthcare advertising and thorough understanding of industry regulations (ABPI Code of Practice)
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Experience mentoring junior colleagues and line management responsibilities
* Strong strategic, creative, and proactive mindset
* Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and inspire colleagues
