Pay Rate: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification Required: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant (or relevant qualification)
Overview
Education Personnel are working with a primary school in the Langley Mill area to recruit a long-term, full-time Teaching Assistant. This Teaching Assistant role offers stability and the chance to work in one setting on a consistent basis, supporting pupils and staff throughout the school year.
The school is built around a central hall with classrooms opening directly onto shared spaces, making it easy for staff to move between lessons, interventions, and group work. There is a designated support area used for reading, phonics, and catch-up sessions, allowing Teaching assistants to work away from the classroom when needed without disruption. Systems are clear and routines are followed closely, which helps pupils respond well to consistent support. Teaching assistants are part of daily planning conversations and are expected to feedback on progress and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide full-time classroom support on a long-term basis
* Work with individuals and small groups to support learning
* Assist with lesson activities, preparation, and classroom routines
* Support behaviour and attention using agreed school approaches
* Help track progress and report observations to teaching staff
* Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and structured sessions
* Take part in meetings, reviews, and whole-school activities
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Has experience working in a UK primary school
* Confident supporting pupils across different subjects and age groups
* Reliable, organised, and consistent in approach
* Comfortable working within set routines and expectations
* Able to communicate clearly with staff and pupils
