The Best Connection is currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Waste & Recycling Operative to join our client's busy team based in Sunderland. This role is ideal for someone who is practical, organised, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Transporting various waste bins to the waste and baling compounds
* Segregating and sorting different grades of plastic and other recyclable materials
* Operating a compactor and baling equipment safely and efficiently
* Loading waste streams into skips
* Bulking waste into IBCs and securely wrapping pallets for collection
* Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT)
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
* Working independently and liaising with head office as required
About You:
* Valid FLT Counterbalance licence - essential
* Able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision
* Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
* Good communication skills
Pay rate:
* £12.82 per hour
Hours of work:
* Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
