Please note: This role requires on-site work and includes some weekend working.

The Role:
As an Apprentice Customer Services Assistant, you will provide high-quality customer service, working with diverse customers, volunteers, stakeholders, and partners. Your responsibilities include welcoming customers, identifying their needs, and helping them make full use of library facilities. The role is primarily based in Harlow Library, with occasional travel to other libraries.
About You:
* Good computer literacy with MS Office and quick learner of in-house systems
* Ability to work accurately and handle sensitive information
* Confident communication tailored to the audience
* Ability to use initiative and work effectively in a team
* Awareness of library, registration, and coroners services
* Experience in a busy customer-facing environment is advantageous
Essential Requirements:
* Age 16+ at the start of the apprenticeship
* Right to work and study in England
* Resided in UK or EEA for three years prior
* No previous Level 2 or higher qualification in Customer Services
* Right to live, work, and study in the UK (not on student visas)
What Will You Be Doing?
* Understanding customer needs and delivering excellent service
* Supporting customers with ICT equipment and software
* Handling telephone inquiries and providing accurate information
* Guiding customers in self-service equipment use
* Adhering to health, safety, and safeguarding policies
* Managing stock, shelving, and administrative tasks
* Participating in promotional and marketing activities
* Contributing to statistical reports and administrative duties
* Acting as a keyholder for locking/unlocking
