Hays are working with a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy specialising in architecture, surveying, and project management across residential, healthcare, education, industrial, andmercial sectors. Due to continued growth and strategic development, they are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist or Technician to take on the pivotal role of Head of CAD. This senior position will be based across both their London and Kent offices (with flexibility in regard to location and hybrid working). The role may be shaped around the post-holder’s level of experience, and it can offer a great step-up for those looking to progress, or further headroom for an experienced individual. In both instances, it will offer the chance to help shape the digital design standards of a respected and growing practice.
Your new role
As Head of CAD, you will lead and develop the practice’s CAD function, ensuring high quality, consistent, and innovative technical drawing output across all teams. Working closely with architectural and surveying professionals, you will support projects from early-stage feasibility studies through to detailed design, statutory approvals, and full construction documentation.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving CAD standards and workflows, driving technical excellence, and supporting project delivery across a wide range of interesting sectors. This is a key leadership role with significant influence on how the practice delivers its technical information.

• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a CAD team.
• A proactive, organised, and detail-orientated approach.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CAD standards, workflows, and best practices.
•mercial awareness with the ability to managepeting deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and strong understanding of wider CAD/BIM workflows.
• Thorough technical knowledge of construction processes and detailing.
• Demonstrable experience producing and overseeing high quality outputs.
Required qualifications & experience:
• Candidates with various qualification routes may be considered, including Architecture Degree, Architectural Technology and/or appropriate industry experience within an architectural or multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
