Head of Inclusion
Roles & Responsibilities
* Centre-Based Inclusive Practice Leadership
o Lead and embed inclusive practices across classrooms, ensuring strategies are consistently applied in daily routines and learning experiences.
o Work alongside educators to model, coach, and refine inclusive teaching and behaviour support approaches.
o Support curriculum adaptation and environmental design to meet diverse developmental needs.
* Centre Partnership and Co-Leadership
o Partner with the Centre Leader to drive shared ownership of inclusion within centre operations.
o Contribute to joint planning and decision‑making on curriculum, staffing, and child outcomes.
o Align inclusion practices with overall centre priorities and operational needs.
* Early Intervention, Service Operations and Quality Assurance
o Oversee the delivery of early intervention support within classrooms, ensuring strategies are embedded within daily routines and naturalistic settings.
o Guide the development, implementation, and review of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), including support for complex cases.
o Establish and maintain processes for referral, screening, intervention planning, documentation, and review.
o Monitor service quality, consistency, and child outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and safeguarding standards.
o Identify and manage risks related to child safety and service delivery.
o Plan and optimise deployment of Early Intervention Educators and resources in alignment with children’s needs and classroom demands.
o Work with the Centre Leader to align staffing structures and resource allocation to support inclusive practices.
* Team Capability and Leadership
o Build educator capability through coaching, in‑class support, and professional learning.
o Supervise Early Intervention Educators and support staff development and performance.
o Promote collaborative practices such as co‑planning and co‑teaching.
* Stakeholder and Family Engagement
o Partner with families to support continuity of strategies across home and school.
o Coordinate with therapists, social workers, and external agencies to ensure integrated support.
o Represent the centre in inclusion‑related case discussions and collaborations.
* Additional responsibilities
o Undertake ad‑hoc duties and projects as assigned by supervisors to support programme needs and organisational priorities.
Requirements
* Degree in Early Childhood, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification preferred).
* Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) or equivalent is highly preferred.
* At least 6–8 years of relevant experience in early intervention, special education, or inclusive preschool settings.
* Strong knowledge of early childhood development, early intervention, and inclusive education practices.
* Ability to design and implement inclusive classroom strategies and individualised intervention plans.
* Experience in coaching and supervising educators, and building staff capability in inclusive practices.
* Capability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and services.
* Skills in service planning, operations, and quality assurance within an early intervention or preschool setting.
* Ability to use data to monitor child outcomes and inform programme improvements.
* Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, including working with families and external partners.
* Leadership and organisational skills to manage staff, resources, and centre‑based initiatives.
