We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a inclusive team at this wonderful school. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with additional needs and help them thrive socially, emotionally and academically. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide tailored support to children with SEND, including those with autism, speech and language needs, ADHD or SEMH
Support the implementation of individual learning plans (IEPs/EHCPs)
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons and create a positive learning environment
Encourage independence, confidence and communication
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide regular feedback
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals
Support children’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour and social development
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Has experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school or relevant setting)
Is calm, empathetic and able to build trusting relationships with children
Is flexible, proactive and a good team player as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusive practice
Has a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or similar) – desirable but not essential
