Part time General Care Assistant Job ref. PUR- 853-145 About me I am a young man and I have a neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia. It means that I am wheelchair bound and struggle with everyday activities such as washing, dressing, preparing meals and going to the toilet. I also have limited vocal ability however I am able to communicate and conversate well. I have full cognitive function. Hours and rate of pay Rate of Pay: Pending increase- will be discussed -SELF-EMPLOYED Hours: Monday – Friday (Part time hours -to be discussed) Location Great Baddow, Chelmsford DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check Right to Work and references will be needed. What you would be doing… • Provide personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting. • Support to maintain independence and daily routines. • Follow care plans, risk assessments and health and safety procedures. • Assist with light domestic tasks where appropriate (e.g. tidying, laundry) • Assisting with meals, hydration and medication support. • Promote safe guarding, dignity, privacy and respect at all times. • Maintaining clear communication with the PA, family and professionals. The person I would like… Someone caring, patient and compassionate, with great communication, observation and listening skills. Experience in care is essential however full training will be provided due to the complexity of my needs. You must have a full uk driving license and be able to drive a manual car.
