ASSOCIATE PSYCHOLOGICAL PRACTITIONER (APP) – East Lancashire Eating Disorder Service, Pendle House, Nelson
A4C BAND 5 • Full-time (1 WTE; 37.5 hrs) • 12 month FTC - maternity cover
Based at Pendle House, Nelson, East Lancashire Eating Disorder Team. Part of the All Age Eating Disorder Service covering Lancashire and South Cumbria with links to other locality teams. You will join a multidisciplinary team providing high quality NICE compliant psychological therapies for people with eating disorders.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver low intensity CBT interventions primarily for eating disorders. Interventions will be offered in both 1:1 and group formats. The post holder will receive regular supervision and professional support from a psychologist or CBT therapist. The service supports training and development in eating disorder–specific CBT models.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: A minimum of a second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
* Essential: Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Essential: Successful completion and pass of the Postgraduate Diploma Associate Psychological Practitioner (PGDip APP).
* Experience: Working with people experiencing mental health and/or physical health difficulties.
* Experience: Delivering low intensity CBT interventions.
* Experience: Working as part of a clinical team.
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of lifespan psychology applied to health care.
* Understanding of needs and difficulties of people with psychological/mental health difficulties or other disabilities.
* Good written and verbal communication skills across multiple settings.

This post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance. Pre-employment checks require the candidate to pay for their own DBS check (£55.50), with deductions taken from the first 3 months’ salary.
Employer: Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Location: Pendle House, Nelson, BB9 9TG. Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum. Contract: Fixed term (12 months). Working pattern: Full-time.
