Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is looking forLicensed Tool & Die Maker to join the team.
Location: Scarborough (Markham Rd & Finch Ave E)
JobResponsibilities:
* Builds new dies and tooling from drawings and specifications by laying out, setting up, machining, fitting, and finishing metal stock and castings.
* Repairs dies and tools used in production as needed.
* Testing repaired dies for proper operation, operating press as required and running test parts.
* Operates a variety of machine tools to cut, mill or grind.
* Verifies conformance of completed dies to specifications by checking dimensions clearances, alignments and finish, consistently working to close tolerances.
* Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance on tool room equipment
* Responsible to ensure that all safety and quality start up procedures are followed.
* Participates in all areas of lean manufacturing.
Qualifications
* Minimum of2 -3 years’ experience as a tool & Die maker in an automotive environment.
* Good working knowledge of crane operation.
* Good knowledge of various materials (tool steel, etc.) heat treating and basic welding.
* Proficient use and operation of all Tool room equipment including Grinders.
* Mathematical and Mechanical aptitude.
* Demonstrated organization skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving.
* Able to work well independently and in a team setting.
