Key Care & Support has an exciting opportunity at their HUB in Sale for a Day Service Lead Manager. The role is full time but part time may be considered for the right person.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide a range of dynamic and person‑centred opportunities for people with Learning Disabilities, additional support needs, autism, complex support needs, and adults with Physical Disabilities.
* Lead and manage support teams within the Community Hub, including Therapists, Team Leaders, Support Workers, Transport Assistants and escort service.
* Shape services for people and ensure a range of quality opportunities are provided within the allocated budget.
* Develop and review policies and procedures to keep day service provision relevant.
* Lead forums and working groups relevant to service development.
* Agree appropriate packages of care and support for each person, including timely reviews that reflect their Life Plans.
* Provide and encourage creative, quality opportunities and therapies, supporting staff to work more flexibly and person‑centred.
* Support staff change through a radical change in day opportunities and facilitate collaborative working with volunteers and partner agencies.
* Distribute the available budget for day services appropriately and manage the agreed budget to keep expenditure within limits.
* Deputise for the Manager of Community and Outreach Services when required.
* Manage teams, deploy staff to meet person‑centred needs and liaise with care management, health teams and other professionals to ensure value for money and positive outcomes.
* Conduct person‑centred reviews, evaluating progress and programme effectiveness, with sufficient notice to the person’s support network.
* Ensure activities contribute to agreed progression Life Plans and are enjoyable leisure activities provided in a safe setting.
* Lead positively, encourage and manage the use of building space by user groups, resolve conflicts, and generate income where appropriate.
* Be part of an on‑call rota to respond to urgent phone queries regarding services, buildings and staff working out of hours.
* Lead and manage volunteers and staff from other groups offering support and opportunities.
* Liaise with carers, other advocates and manage agreed budget while ensuring expenditure stays within limits.
* Ensure appropriate travel support programmes and safe transport arrangements.
* Take overall responsibility for Health and Safety arrangements at the Community Hub.
* Be part of the Service Provision Management Team.
* Collect, analyse and provide relevant information to corporate colleagues.
* Oversee an effective Information Centre and provide leadership in a learning environment.
* Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and staff are aware of their responsibilities.


Experience and Knowledge

* A management qualification.
* Extensive managerial experience in social care or health settings, with substantial experience at managerial level.
* Extensive experience working with external agencies as partners.
* Substantial experience managing budgets.
* Experience in recruiting and managing staff and volunteers.
* Experience in arranging transport for customers.
* Advanced knowledge of legislation relating to social care provision and disability legislation.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and local policies.
* Advanced knowledge of Safeguarding Adults policies and practice.
* Understanding of the social model of disability.
* Advanced knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with Learning Difficulties with complex needs.
* Understanding of the principles of Positive Behavioural Support.
* Understanding of the principles of Value for Money (VFM).
* Understanding of the importance of learning and development in service delivery.
* Understanding of Equal Opportunities policy and ability to deliver services within this framework.
* Understanding of the principals and policies in relation to Quality, Health and Safety and customer care.
