As a Junior Network Planner, you’ll support the design and development of our full fibre network—helping to deliver projects that connect rural communities and market towns alike. Working closely with our Build, Engineering and Delivery teams, you’ll assist with fibre network designs, pre-construction planning, and ensuring data accuracy throughout each project. What you’ll be doing
* Support the planning and design of Point-to-Point (P2P) and XGSPON fibre networks using a range of build methods (BT/OR PIA, rural plough, directional drilling, hard trench, etc.).
* Assist with detailed fibre mapping and help produce PON area network plans.
* Create accurate Cabinet-to-Customer designs, including cable sizes, node locations, installation methods, and correct labelling in line with company standards.
* Produce Straight Line Diagrams (SLDs) and splice matrices, and help validate designs before construction begins.
* Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and third parties to support delivery of project milestones.
* Help manage design change requests and keep all records up to date during the build process.
* Review as-built data, update network maps, and maintain accurate UPRN and asset records.
* Assist in generating project reports such as asset lists and cable lengths.
* Use GIS software (Vetro/Render and QGIS) to create and maintain network maps.

* Previous experience with GIS (degree level or equivalent).
* Good knowledge of QGIS.
