Job Title: Automation Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Automation Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and performance of our automated equipment and control systems. This hands‑on role is perfect for engineers with a strong automation or electrical background who enjoy diagnosing faults, improving system performance, and working with PLC controlled machinery. Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, troubleshoot and repair automated production and control systems.
* Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC controlled equipment, sensors, drives and control panels.
* Support planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
* Make PLC, HMI and parameter adjustments as required.
* Identify and implement improvements to system reliability and performance.
* Collaborate with operations, engineering teams and external contractors.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures.
* Complete maintenance records and technical reports.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in maintenance, automation or electrical engineering roles.
* Strong fault‑finding skills on automated machinery and control systems.
* Knowledge of PLC based systems, including fault diagnosis and basic modifications.
* Relevant electrical or automation qualification (apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent experience).
* Willingness to work shifts and respond to call‑outs if required.
* Experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider or similar.
* Understanding of industrial networks, drives, servos and instrumentation.
