About the Opportunity
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Primary 1:1 SEN Tutor to support a primary-aged learner in the CH4 area of Chester. This role is ideal for a tutor who is passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
You will provide personalised, one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's academic, social, and emotional needs, creating a positive and engaging learning experience.
Responsibilities
* Deliver individualised tuition in line with the student's learning needs and abilities.
* Support progress in core primary subjects, including English and Maths.
* Adapt teaching strategies and resources to accommodate SEN requirements.
* Build the student's confidence, independence, and engagement with learning.
* Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records.
* Liaise with parents, carers, and relevant professionals where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with primary-aged children.
* Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
* Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting learners with one or more of the following:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* ADHD
* Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
* SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
* Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
* Anxiety-based school avoidance
