Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Engineer for a contract position in Samlesbury. This role involves working with cutting-edge military and information systems, with a focus on efficient procurement processes within the organisation.
Responsibilities
 * Managing procurement activities to support various projects within the Defence & Security sector
 * Ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services
 * Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
 * Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers
 * Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers
 * Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
 * Collaborating with project teams to align procurement strategies with business needs
 * Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise
Job Requirements
 * Experience in procurement, preferably within the Defence & Security sector
 * Strong negotiation and contract management skills
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
 * Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days on-site at Samlesbury
 * Understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements
 * Proficiency in procurement software and tools
 * Security clearance at SC level (or in-flight to start)
 * High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
