We are recruiting Trainee Youth Workers to join our team to work in residential settings. We are looking for flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals.

The position involves providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to service users with complex needs within a residential setting. The goal is to create an environment that caters to a person’s intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will be working with individuals who have been placed into the care system for various reasons, with a range of disorders, behaviors, and needs. Therefore, we seek individuals who have the confidence, patience, and skill set to work successfully with these individuals and make a positive impact on their lives.

In this role, you will support young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping.

Please note that you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully complete one of our induction programs before any placements are offered.

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and other staff members.
2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for service users to live and for staff to work.
3. Keep up to date with all communication and information systems.
4. Attend and actively participate in meetings.
5. Support service users in managing their behavior using approved skills.
6. Promote equality by acknowledging individuals' differences.
7. Protect service users from any form of abuse from staff, visitors, or other service users.
8. Write accurate reports for reviews and keep written records for monitoring purposes.
9. Attend all required training and be prepared to achieve qualifications relevant to the role.
10. Attend work reliably and punctually, following a set shift pattern.
11. Stay updated with all procedures and policy changes.
12. Take responsible care for health and safety of yourself and others.
13. Undertake any additional duties relevant to the post as required.

Person Specification:

1. Ability to form professional relationships with service users.
2. Ability to read and understand written work and to write clear, accurate reports.
3. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with service users in various ways.
4. Ability to go wherever service users want to go and participate in all activities.
5. Ability to work as directed and complete tasks reliably and to a high standard.
6. Ability to participate in training and development.
7. Ability to follow a work pattern and attend work punctually and reliably.
8. Awareness of effective teamwork principles.
9. Awareness of the general health, safety, and welfare of service users.
10. Awareness of equal opportunities and discrimination prevention.
