Urgent Hire | Major Bid Programme Launching June
I’m partnering with an ambitious healthcare services organisation undergoing significant transformation as they build an entirely new bid function from the ground up.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to shape how future NHS bids are built, ensuring submissions are not just competitive, but operationally credible, commercially viable, and grounded in real-world service delivery.
We’re looking for a Bid Performance Lead with a strong NHS provider / commissioning / contract performance background who can bridge the gap between operational performance and winning bid strategy.
This is not a standard bid-writing role. This is an opportunity which combines genuine commercial accumen to protect the business, acceleate growth and ensure contract development.
This is about making sure bids are evidence-based, defensible, and profitable.
What you’ll be doing:
Translating live contract performance data into compelling bid evidence and commissioner-ready narratives
Challenging bid assumptions to ensure claims are realistic and defensible
Identifying delivery risks before they become commercial problems
Building case studies, performance examples, and improvement stories for future tenders
Preparing senior stakeholders for commissioner meetings with clear performance briefings
Helping shape stronger, more credible bid positioning across NHS opportunities
Feeding operational insight back into future bid strategy and contract retention planning
What we need:
Essential:
NHS provider, commissioning, or contract management experience - 5 years +
Strong understanding of NHS KPIs, SLAs, RTT performance, and service delivery metrics
Experience interpreting performance data and translating it into clear insight
Ability to challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders
Strong commercial awareness
Highly desirable:
Primary care commissioning / NHS contracting expertise
Why this role stands out:
This is a rare chance to help build a bid function from scratch inside a business investing heavily in NHS growth. You’ll have real influence, direct visibility with senior leadership, and the opportunity to shape how the organisation approaches NHS tendering for years to come.
