Supply Chain Manager

Salary dependant on experience

POSITION SUMMARY

Direct and coordinate, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service. Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs. Direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory.


EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential Functions

* Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
* Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
* Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
* Drive actions that support defined KPI’s (DOI, supplier OTD, WADPO, schedule adherence).
* Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
* Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
* Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
* Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
* Ensure that SAP item master information is accurately maintained to drive MRP and to ensure material/resource availability based on the production schedule.
* Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
* Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
* Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
* Identify ways to improve productivity and safety.
* May be called upon to guide, monitor and instruct entry level employees in their duties.
* Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
* Collaborate with global supply chain and operations teams across other Avtron sites to align processes, share best practices, and support group-wide supply chain initiatives.
* Manage UK import/export compliance, customs requirements, and trade regulations including post-Brexit rules of origin and customs declarations.
* Manage and develop the UK supply chain team, including performance reviews, training, and succession planning in line with UK employment law and company HR policies.
* Support global SIOP (Sales and Operations Planning) processes, contributing UK site data and participating in global planning cycles.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or five years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Knowledge of UK import/export regulations and post-Brexit trade compliance requirements


Experience

* Familiar with bills of materials and shop orders
* Five years or more related experience and/or training
* Experience working within a global manufacturing or industrial business, with exposure to international supply chain operations
* Experience managing UK import/export processes, freight, and 3PL relationships
* CIPS qualification (or working towards) desirable; APICS CPIM/CSCP equivalent considered
