Senior Buyer - Water Sector
My client is a leading infrastructure services provider, delivering complex projects across regulated sectors. With a strong presence across multiple regions and long-term framework agreements, they operate both independently and in collaborative joint ventures. They are currently seeking a skilled Senior Buyer to join their team in Peterborough:
Key Responsibilities:
* Aggregate demand across programme areas, ensuring all relevant information is captured to support the procurement of goods and services.
* Undertake ethical and robust methods to promote the correct selection of supply chain partners.
* Support on-time delivery of projects, managing and escalating risks where necessary.
* Ensure Health & Safety processes and deliverables are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
* Issue performance scorecards across the supply chain and provide feedback to project teams.
* Ensure all deliverables are received within agreed timeframes, including programmes, signed contracts, and site documentation.
* Identify and implement efficiencies through value-added approaches within the supply chain.
* Undertake proactive stakeholder management; provide updates, analysis, reports, and innovative solutions to increase knowledge sharing and confidence.
About the Candidate:
* Experienced in a senior Procurement or Sourcing role with a proven track record of stakeholder management across varied and demanding audiences.
* Highly self-motivated and accountable, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to professionally challenge using transparent and honest facts.
* Demonstrated experience in driving supply chain performance, with a collaborative approach and strong team ethic.
* Operates with integrity, always acting in the best interest of the customer while managing a busy but rewarding workload.
* Capable of delivering portfolio strategies that achieve tangible results.
