The role of a Door Supervisor is crucial in maintaining safety and security within various venues, including bars, clubs, hotels, restaurants, and events. As a Door Supervisor, you will be responsible for monitoring the entrance and exit points, ensuring that all patrons adhere to the venue's policies and regulations.
Your presence will help create a safe environment for both staff and guests while providing excellent customer service.
**Requirements**

* Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence Essential for all security personnel to legally operate in door supervision roles.
* First Aid Certification Valid certification from an accredited organisation, demonstrating the ability to provide immediate help in emergencies.
* ACT (Awareness of Counter Terrorism) Certification Required for all personnel to understand and respond effectively to potential terrorism threats.
* Previous Security Experience A minimum of 2 years in the security sector, or related experience is preferred.
* Background Checks Successful completion of a criminal background check to ensure an exemplary record.
* Customer Service Skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and the public.
* Driving licence required
* Must have a car for transport
* Professional Appearance Adherence to uniform and grooming standards as set by KC Security
* Due to the nature of the roles and specific client requests, we require candidates with a larger build for this position. This requirement helps us effectively meet client needs.
Driver's License A valid driver's license is preferable for certain positions, depending on job responsibilities.
**Duties**
* Monitor the entrance and exit of patrons to ensure compliance with venue policies.
* Conduct thorough checks of identification to prevent underage entry.
* Manage crowd control effectively, ensuring a smooth flow of guests.
* Respond promptly to incidents or disturbances, employing conflict resolution skills.
* All Mandatory Checks Complete
** All Bag Checks**
Every bag must be checked. This includes handbags, backpacks, and even plastic carrier bags—regardless of who is carrying them (men or women). There are no exceptions.
**ID Checks – Challenge 25**
Every individual entering the venue must be asked for ID if they appear under the age of 25 Years. This is non-negotiable and must be consistently enforced at the door.
**Professional Conduct**
Always remember your primary role as security is to de-escalate, not escalate. Stay calm, avoid becoming part of any problem, and never put yourself or the team in unnecessary conflict.
**Ejections**
* Any individual who is intoxicated or misbehaving should receive no more than two warnings. If the behavior continues, they should be removed from the venue promptly.
* If the situation is serious, eject immediately no warnings necessary.
* Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
* Conduct regular patrols of the venue to identify potential security risks or breaches.
* Provide first aid assistance when required, ensuring the health and safety of patrons.
Skills
* Proficient in first aid techniques to respond effectively to medical emergencies.
* Strong surveillance skills, with the ability to monitor multiple areas simultaneously.
* Knowledge of loss prevention strategies to safeguard property and assets.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with patrons and staff.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in challenging situations.
* Strong observational skills to detect suspicious behaviour or potential threats.
