Role Description
This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. Due to the nature of the role and the needs of the people we support, we can only accept applications from females for this position. Gray Healthcare is recruiting a new team of mental health support workers within the Wrexham area to support a lady in her late twenties with a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and Schizoaffective disorder, who is living independently in her own home and receiving 1:1 support 24 hours a day. The lady we will be supporting has a keen interest in baking and crafts and likes to keep busy and active. She will be supported by a female team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.
Required Skills and Experience
* Social care experience within mental health and with experience of supporting individuals with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia and self‑harm
* Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and learning disabilities
* Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that may be considered challenging
* Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments
* Right to work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least six months; we do not sponsor
* Position requires an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Hours
1 × 36‑hour contract – 2 × 12‑hour day shifts (8 am to 8 pm) and 1 × 12‑hour waking‑night shift (8 pm to 8 am), with alternative weekends.
Induction and Training
We provide an initial week of training, which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems and medication) followed by in‑person training on PROACT‑SCIPr‑UK, a PBS approach to least restrictive practice. You will then complete person‑centred training specific to the person you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
