Department: Allied Health Professionals and Psychology

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Llanarth Court

Compensation: £35,000 / year

Llanarth Court is looking to recruit a PBS Practitioner to join the team. We are a secure 95 bedded forensic service for male and females, 18+. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours.

We also have an additional facility within the grounds of the hospital, offering opportunities for individuals who require bespoke packages of care, as part of our bespoke therapeutic placement (BTP) offering. We are a sector-leading example of how providing a wide variety of care settings and a clear care pathway in the direction of recovery, can benefit all individuals.

Responsibilities

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

We are looking for a PBS practitioner to join our team to lead the implementation and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for the service, supporting individuals, colleagues, and teams in implementing positive and proactive approaches that improve wellbeing and quality of life for the people we support, while reducing restrictive practices.

If you have any queries or would like to discuss the role please contact Karen Redding on 01873 840555, KarenRedding@priorygroup.com

Qualifications

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or a related field, such as a BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, or an MA/MSc in Autism Studies, PBS/ABA Graduate Diploma. The ideal candidate will have proven experience conducting behavioural assessments, developing and evaluating interventions for individuals with challenging behaviour, and providing direct support to people with learning disabilities and/or Autism. A strong understanding of relevant legal frameworks, including the Mental Health Act (1983), safeguarding, and risk management, is essential. The role requires resilience to work in physically and emotionally demanding situations, alongside the ability to lead and positively influence others within a team environment. Excellent record-keeping, report writing, and communication skills are required, as is experience delivering PBS training and reducing the use of restrictive practices. A full driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use is essential. The successful candidate will be supported and managed by the Head of Psychology.
