DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Quality Engineer to join our team specializing in Quality for PLANT VPI in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Enhancing Product Quality: Ensuring products and processes meet quality standards, helping deliver defect-free products that satisfy customer needs.
* Resolving Customer Issues: Managing systems related to customer issues and leading containment activities to address concerns and improve satisfaction.
* Supporting Continuous Improvement: Using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and 7-step problem solving to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
* Facilitating Change Management: Supporting change activities for current and new products to ensure smooth transitions and maintain quality.
* Conducting Quality Audits: Leading and supporting audits to identify improvement areas and ensure compliance.
* Providing Technical Expertise: Acting as a quality resource to other teams to share knowledge and support quality goals.
* Analyzing Data for Decision Support: Using data analysis to provide insights for decision-making to improve products and processes.
* Leading Safe Launch Initiatives: Supporting or leading initiatives to ensure new products meet quality standards from the start.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Technical and Quality Expertise: Knowledge of quality tools, NPI, and PPAP processes to lead validation and ensure customer requirements.
* Strong Computer Skills: Ability to manage data, analyze information, and use relevant software tools.
* Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with customers and teams, negotiate PPAP requirements, and address quality issues.
* Manufacturing and Metrology Experience: Practical experience in manufacturing and metrology to ensure products meet quality standards from launch.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Licensing may be required for export controls or sanctions. Intermediate relevant work experience required.
