Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor with a strong presence across Scotland, known for delivering high-quality building services projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial sectors. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer to join their Edinburgh team. The Role As Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the commercial success of projects by managing all materials and subcontract procurement activities. You’ll work closely with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure best value, timely delivery, and alignment with project requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the procurement process for materials, plant, and subcontract packages across multiple M&E projects. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors. * Negotiate terms and pricing to ensure cost efficiency and value for money. * Support project managers and estimators with cost analysis and procurement strategy. * Manage supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, H&S, and sustainability standards. * Implement and oversee procurement policies and systems to drive continuous improvement. * Provide procurement reports and updates to senior management as required. About You: * Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer role within the M&E or construction industry. * Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. * Excellent knowledge of M&E materials, suppliers, and subcontract markets. * Ability to manage multiple procurement streams and meet deadlines. * Proficient in MS Office and procurement software systems. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain management, or construction (e.g. CIPS, HNC/HND) would be advantageous but not essential.
