Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate processing of purchase ledger transactions and maintaining up-to-date financial records, amongst other duties.
The successful candidate will be methodical, proactive and comfortable working with Sage in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Duties
* Process and verify all purchase invoices using accounting software Sage
* Maintain and organise the accounts filing system
* Issue remittance advice to suppliers
* Maintain Sage Supplier Records ensuring email addresses, bank details and CIS details are correct where appropriate
* Manage accounts email address
* Support the finance team in ad-hoc administrative tasks related to financial services
* Reconciling supplier statements to ensure accuracy on accounts ledger - requesting copy invoices where necessary, advising of payments that have not been allocated by suppliers and querying any inaccuracies
* Preparation and submission of the monthly payment list - compiling and issuing invoices for employees approval and management of the process
* Management of Utility and Council Tax accounts - ensuring on time and accurate payments
* Notify the Council and Utility Companies of all property completions, maintaining an accurate record of all completions
Requirements
* Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role
* Working knowledge of digital accounts software, Sage experience preferred but not essential, training can be provided
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organisation and administrative skills
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Time management
* Strong communication skills
* Proactive and able to work independently
