Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a senior level Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team based in either Nottingham or Birmingham. The role primarily supports our Building Surveying department with inspection and design‑based services across the region, engaging in programmes of work across healthcare, education and blue‑light clients. This role suits those who enjoy varied workdays.
Responsibilities
* Design and specification of projects across various sectors.
* Site inspections of work in progress.
* Project progress and client‑facing meetings.
* Surveys and condition reports.
* Cost estimates throughout the RIBA work stages.
* Reviewing contractor proposals.
* Input to fee proposals and appointment documents.
* Input into business plans for growth.

Qualifications
* Experience working for a consultancy.
* Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
* Willingness to travel, predominantly around the Midlands and to London on occasion.
* Ambitious and passionate about the built environment.
* Lifecycle analysis, condition surveys and reporting experience.
* Previous experience within a consultancy or similar environment.
* Degree educated in a relevant subject, ideally Building Services or similar; time‑served individuals considered.
* MS Office suite, software design packages such as MEPworx, IES and AutoCAD knowledge.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
