Vickerstock is partnering with an engineering firm to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety policies to ensure the safety of all team members. Your duties will include:
1. Developing and reviewing safe systems of work, identifying hazards, and delivering training.
2. Conducting risk assessments and implementing effective controls.
3. Performing regular workplace and equipment inspections, and reporting safety improvements.
4. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
5. Recording and analyzing incidents, producing reports and statistics for management.
6. Investigating safety incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
7. Leading health and safety training sessions for managers and staff.
8. Promoting a safety culture through team engagement and consultation.
9. Supporting internal and external safety audits to ensure industry standards are met.
10. Monitoring health and safety performance and analyzing data to foster continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
* At least 3 years' experience in a similar health and safety role.
* Relevant health and safety qualifications.
* Experience with ISO standards and auditing.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT and numeracy skills (MS Office).
* Full driving license.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or construction industries.
* IOSH membership.
* NEBOSH Diploma.
* Train the Trainer certifications.
