The Role As a Mechanical Estimator / M&E Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical building services projects, working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams.
Projects typically range from small works through to larger commercial building services installations, generally from £100k up to £3m in value.
You will play a key role in the tendering process, ensuring all submissions are commercially sound and technically accurate.
Key responsibilities include: Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and M&E building services projects Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and drawings Producing accurate take-offs and pricing schedules Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations Supporting bid submissions and tender presentations Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover to delivery Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate Requirements Experience working as a Mechanical Estimator or M&E Estimator within the Building Services sector Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems Experience pricing commercial building services projects Good technical and commercial awareness Ability to interpret drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Stable career history demonstrating consistency and reliability (this role is not suited to frequent job movers) Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team Remuneration Package Mechanical Estimator / M&E Estimator £55,000£75,000 Car allowance or company vehicle (including EV options) Bonus scheme Private healthcare (Bupa) 26 days holiday Hybrid working (typically 12 days from home) Pension This role would suit candidates currently working as: Mechanical Estimator, M&E Estimator, Senior Mechanical Estimator, Intermediate Mechanical Estimator, Building Services Estimator, MEP Estimator Next Steps Please apply online today, or contact Rob at David Leslie Ltd for an informal and confidential discussion. xxuwjjq
