Job Summary

Are you an experienced and compassionate leader with a passion for improving the mental health and well-being of children and young people?

We are looking for 2 Team Managers for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. These roles are purely operational and do not hold a clinical caseload.

The Two Roles Are:

Team Manager of The ReACH Team (Responsive Adolescent and Childrens Home-Based Treatment) formerly known as the Crisis Team. The team offer urgent and emergency support in the community and A&E departments.
Team Manager of The Core Team and Enhanced Outreach Team (EOT). The Core Team offer up to 8 sessions of mental health intervention. The Enhanced Outreach Team support children in care or displaying forensic type behaviours that do not require FCAMHS.

Your role as a CAMHS Team Manager will require you to:

Lead and manage the team, ensuring high standard of care and service delivery
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders
Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional development and staff well-being
Monitor performance, quality and outcomes, implementing improvements where necessary
Management of resources and line management of staff members within the time

The role involves a combination of leadership, operational management, and strategic planning to ensure services run efficiently and meeting the needs of children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

Our community bases are Drury Lane Health and Well-Being Centre in the centre of Wakefield, Airedale Health Centre in Castleford and Fieldhead Hospital.

Provide day-to-day management of the team, hold excellent communication skills and ability to form positive working relationships with Partners and Stakeholders
Lead on recruitment, retention and induction of staff
Conducting managerial supervision, appraisals and oversight of individuals development
Managing performance and absence/staff wellbeing
Ensure the team are compliant with mandatory training and supervision requirements
Support implementation and development of the service and delivery
Managing complaints from young people, families and professionals
Motivate, engage, empower and develop the team
Lead and co-ordinate team communication, including chairing regular team meetings
Approving annual leave and ensure safe staffing within the team
Work closely with the team and the teams Clinical Lead and other Team Managers

Job responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for the leadership, co-ordination and management of CAMHS related to meeting the needs of children and young people as identified by the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will carry a small caseload.

To facilitate and be responsible for effective multi-disciplinary / multi-agency team working to meet the needs of all who access the service.

To ensure that mechanisms are in place to manage, monitor and review clinical and admin staffs within the services.

To ensure the effective management and continuous development of the team, providing leadership to all staff which encourages the development of a qualitative, evidence based service.

To promote safeguarding and the welfare of children, young people and staffs.

To manage the demand and capacity within the team in line with service targets, capacity and demand.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

The postholder will:

1.1 Care/service/function Provision:

Ensure effective co-ordination and leadership of the team in delivering agreed assessment and treatment plans as identified by the multi-disciplinary team.

Ensure that individual needs led assessment and treatment plans are evidence based, effectively co-ordinated and outcomes achieved within agreed timescales as directed by the multi-disciplinary team.

Actively encourage and develop service user and carer involvement in the development of individual assessment and treatment plans, and the development of the service.

Encourage and be responsible for the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach in the identification and delivery of assessment and treatment plan.

Develop a culture within the team that supports research, evidence based practice, innovative practice, quality initiatives and is continuously analytical in seeking to improve service delivery.

Support and lead the teaching, assessing and mentoring of students within the service.

Support clinicians to compile reports for the multi-disciplinary agency team as and when required

Promote the safeguarding of children in line with Trust policies and procedures.

1.2 Working as part of a Team

Be responsible for policy and service development and enable other staff within the service to do so.

Propose and implement policy changes as an integral part of the job which impacts on the whole multi-disciplinary team.

Lead on operational development of the pathways and work in partnership with the portfolio leads in developing the clinical pathways in line with the service specification.

Operationally manage and ensure effective implementation and delivery of pathways.

Ensure that staff are fully aware of and comply with agreed Trust policies and procedures.

Assist the Service Manager in identifying and recording information that will assist in the performance management of the service.

Be responsible for the implementation of the change agenda in line with the modernisation strategy within the service.

Be responsible for the clinical governance development plan for CAMHS and undertake necessary actions as directed by the Service Manager.

Develop and maintain working relationships with senior managers that are open and supportive
