We are looking for a Field Operations Manager to join Thames Water permanently. You will lead a multi-disciplined team responsible for operational and maintenance activities of our Water Network Assets in the Thames Valley area. The role is based in Godalming - Guildford - GU7 1UP.
What will you be doing as a Field Operations Manager?
1. Leading and developing Network Service Technicians, setting goals, conducting team meetings, one-on-one sessions, and overseeing the PDR process and training plans.
2. Fostering a culture of engagement and motivation within the team.
3. Championing continuous improvement and sharing best practices.
4. Managing budgets and contributing to financial planning to meet targets.
5. Assisting with risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SHE4) for complex activities.
6. Monitoring performance metrics and ensuring prompt responses to work requests.
7. Conducting site visits to assess work quality.
8. Ensuring safe working practices and compliance with procedures.
9. Supporting operational efficiency and customer service initiatives.
10. Committing to health and safety policies and continuous safety improvements.
What should you bring to the role?
1. Experience in leading high-performing operational teams with strong people management skills.
2. Good business and stakeholder awareness with innovative problem-solving abilities.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Strong IT skills, especially in SAP; training will be provided.
5. A full UK driving license, as travel is required.
6. Availability for a standby rota.
