This opportunity is ideal for either an experienced Interventional Radiology nurse or a registered nurse with the ambition and drive to develop into a Clinical Nurse Specialist. For candidates without existing Interventional Radiology training, this post will require successful completion of a structured 2-year development programme at Band 5, designed to support you in building the specialist skills and knowledge required to progress into the Band 6 role. The department operates Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00, with an on-call service covering evenings after 18:00, as well as 24-hour cover during weekends and Bank Holidays. Participation in the on-call rota is a key requirement of the role, so flexibility and a strong team ethos are essential. Advert You will be joining a well-established team of twelve Clinical Nurse Specialists, providing expert care to patients across Bradford and the surrounding areas. While experience in Interventional Radiology or cardiology would be an advantage, we are ultimately looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and compassionate, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care. Detailed job description and main responsibilities · Carries out fundamental and enhanced nursing skills, which include; 1, Scrub and circulating practitioner for a variety of different procedures working directly with the consultant and assisting with procedures. 2, Being familiar and handling specialist equipment used only in the radiology setting. 3, Administration of IV conscious sedation and monitoring of the patient. 4, Pre and post operative care advice for for patients within the interventional radiology setting. 5, Working closely with the MDT to plan and implement care for patients accessing interventional radiology. 6, To be part of a 24/7 emergency service, providing out of hours interventional radiology care. 7, Optional further enhanced skills such as placing PICC lines and inserting Loop recorders can be undertaken following additional training and competency assessment.
