Were looking for commercially driven Contact Sales Agents to join British Gas and play a key role in growing and retaining our customer base.
This is a fast‑paced, target‑driven role where youll engage customers across voice and digital channels, predominantly through outbound activity, with some inbound contact. Youll confidently identify customer needs, present the right solutions, and convert opportunities across energy tariffs and service products - all while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Salary: £28,393 basic + monthly commission (OTE commission £500 Per Month)
Contract: Permanent
Location: 29 Murdoch House, Bothwell Road, Uddingston, G71 7TW
Working style: Office-based during training, with flexible hybrid / work‑from‑home options available post‑training
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
What youll be doing
* Proactively engaging customers through outbound sales and retention activity, with some inbound contact
* Winning new customers and maximising upsell and cross‑sell opportunities
* Retaining customers who are considering leaving or moving home through tailored, value‑led solutions
* Running targeted outbound retention and win‑back campaigns
* Confidently switching between offers based on customer needs and market conditions
* Championing British Gas products and supporting our transition to Energy 2.0 and Net Zero solutions
* Delivering a consistently high‑quality customer experience that drives satisfaction and loyalty
* Resolving customer queries first time wherever possible
* Demonstrating strong commercial awareness of tariffs, pricing, and competitor positioning
What were looking for
* Proven experience in sales, retention or customer contact roles (inbound and/or outbound)
* A confident communicator who can adapt conversations to different customer needs
* Strong commercial focus and comfort working towards targets and incentives
* Experience using multiple systems and digital tools in a contact centre environment
* Skilled in objection handling, negotiation, and closing
* A customer‑first mindset, with empathy and professionalism in every interaction
* Resilience and motivation to succeed in a fast‑moving, performance‑led environment
* Experience in the energy sector is advantageous, but not essential - strong sales experience is what matters most
