Overview
Director - Scientific Marketing Affairs, Dermatology. The Companion Animal (CA) Business unit leads strategy development and execution across markets worldwide, driving global marketing strategies and activities to support CA launches and maximize the value of in-line products. The Animal Health portfolio includes a robust pipeline of new products and initiatives providing customer benefits and driving business growth. The director sets medical strategy for the Global CA Dermatology portfolio for all medical marketing activities, including publications, conferences, medical education planning, and engagement with thought leaders and key opinion leaders. This position is part of the medical affairs and veterinary relations team, providing actionable medical insights to marketing franchises and commercial teams to drive business performance and excellence in scientific support activities for customers in alignment with the division’s strategic initiatives.
Primary Activities
* Lead scientific and medical strategies for the launch of the company’s new dermatology products, understand customer and category dynamics, influence formulary decisions, identify growth opportunities, define competitive advantages, and uphold best-in-class scientific/professional representation within the veterinary industry.
* Represent the medical voice of the company’s products.
* Lead customer-centric scientific programs to establish the company’s position among thought leaders, KOLs, veterinary academia, and veterinarians.
* Collaborate with regions and markets to develop relationships with veterinary medical organizations, veterinary schools, policy makers, researchers, and thought leaders to educate and gain insights.
* Ensure all technical services programs are successful, metrics-driven, and purposeful.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Commercial Leadership, to drive business performance and set strategic direction.
* Develop and execute the KOL Program Strategy in collaboration with Marketing, Commercial Operations, and regional veterinary teams, building relationships with key veterinary organizations and supporting scientific projects and educational events.
* Oversee the development and execution of the global publication, technical market studies, conference, and education strategic plan, integrating conference data into the customer journey and providing effective technical training curriculums for thought leaders, consultants, and veterinarians to optimize product and service knowledge.
* Ensure business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
* Collaborate with Regional/Local technical services colleagues to align activities globally.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Veterinary Medicine. Board certification in Dermatology, PhD, or advanced degree in Animal Science is highly preferred.
* Experience in veterinary practice (private or corporate) with emphasis on pet medicine; post-DVM or PhD specialization in dermatology or parasitology is preferred.
* 10+ years of combined experience in clinic practice and academic or industry-related activities; veterinary medical & scientific business experience is highly preferred.
* Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment and matrix organization; experience navigating international matrices and driving growth.
* Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills; ability to collaborate across regions and with executive leadership.
* Proven ability to develop and execute veterinary customer strategies with measurable results and clear metrics.
* Ability to travel up to 35% (including Europe, Asia, and South America).

* Salary range: $173,200.00 – $272,600.00. Eligibility for annual bonus and long-term incentives, if applicable.
