This role refers to the Post-Mortem Imaging Service to be provided by East London Forensic Centre. The Post-Mortem Imaging Service will provide Post-Mortem Computerised Tomography (PMCT) scanning with radiological reporting via a Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), also utilising a Radiology Imaging System replacement Civica.
The post-holder will be responsible for conducting CT scans and supporting the day-to-day operation of the PMCT imaging service, working alongside the lead radiographer and deputising in their absence, including during annual leave. They will ensure practice adheres to relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.
The post-holder will contribute to the daily running of the PMCT scan in accordance with relevant legislations, regulations, and policies, reporting to the Mortuary Service Operations Manager.
They will be routinely located in the CT scan control room to perform PMCT examinations on the deceased.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications
* DCR/BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
* HCPC registration
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* CPD evidence
* Training in post-mortem/forensic imaging
* Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience
* NHS Band 6 experience
Knowledge and Experience
* Interest/knowledge in forensic radiography
* Experience in CT scanning and independent working
* Understanding of Post-Mortem Imaging and QA processes
* Knowledge of clinical governance, policies, and procedures
* Experience with PMCT techniques, including contrast-enhanced and cardiac CT
* Understanding of UK death investigation system
* Ability to perform intravenous procedures
* Experience working in a mortuary environment

* Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to workload demands
