What you’ll be doing
as an Assistant Project Manager
1. Providing Senior Project Managers with support to deliver our Slough STW project outcome and deliver our current 5 year AMP commitment.
2. Drive project delivery to time cost and outcome through the stage gate process.
3. Attending, managing and following up on internal and external meetings.
4. Project and document tracking, keeping a meticulous record of administration and processes.
5. Proactively manage project risks through maintaining detailed risk registers, ensuring timely mitigation, and reducing potential project delays.
6. Proactively ensuring every stakeholder and customer touch point is a positive experience to remember.
7. Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole-life cost basis.
8. Performance managing the service providers to ensure out-performance of service levels and value for money.
9. Establish and continuously promote a proactive health, safety & environment culture across projects.
10. Be part of a customer-focused culture that is unrelenting in its pursuit of excellence in service delivery to internal and external customers.
11. Actively protecting, managing, and enhancing Thames Water’s reputation to external customers and stakeholders.
This hybrid role is based from our Slough Sewage Treatment Works and Central Reading Office. You will need to attend both locations as required for the position and business need, which will be around three days a week.
The work schedule is 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
A driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential for this position.

12. A suitable project management qualification.
13. Project experience from significant complex projects where a need to attention to detail and rigour is required.
14. Organised, resilient and driven, with proven experience of managing the performance of third-party service providers and contractors.
15. Project Management skills, attention to detail and precise.
16. Collaborative approach, good communication skills with contractors and stakeholders.
17. A self-starter, with a willingness to come forward and take responsibility.
18. Continuous promotion of proactive health, safety & environment culture.
19. Experience in proactive management of project risk.
20. A strong customer service ethic, measurement of customer satisfaction and a proven track record of delivering improvement for customers.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:
21. Previous water sector or utilities experience.
