Are you a psychology graduate passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Are you considering a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or child and adolescent mental health? This Learning Support Assistant role in Slough offers an excellent foundation.
You will be joining a well-regarded specialist school catering for children aged 4 to 16 with high-support autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex needs. The school offers a creative, inclusive, and therapy-informed environment that fosters holistic development through communication, play, sensory integration, and structured learning.
The Learning Support Assistant Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
1. Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups across a range of complex needs
2. Help children develop communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills
3. Work alongside therapists, SEN teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
4. Gain exposure to therapeutic approaches such as ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and sensory integration strategies
