Design Engineering Apprentice (Electrical)
Since 1998, apprenticeships have been the building blocks of the Intelect workforce, and have continued to be for the past 25 years as we have grown and progressed as a business. When it comes to apprenticeships, Intelect’s ethos has always been ‘train to retain’, and as such, we are now renowned for our award-winning program, gaining both local and national recognition and ranking 27th in the government’s Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers.
Our Level 3 Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Electrical apprenticeship is a three-year course, which includes training at Middlesbrough College.
Day to day work will involve the use of design applications such as AutoCAD / Siemens. The apprentice should have a basic understanding of these applications, however full training is provided. Working on several different engineering projects, the candidate will support the panel deparment with the designing and building of control panels and switch boards.
Design apprentices will work alongside the panel department team to deliver projects, and meet targets. They will develop and produce 2D and 3D drawings within the office, and at times will be required to provide support on site during the install and commissioning process.
All apprentices will be provided with their own uniform and PPE. They will also receive additional on-going training, covering various aspects of health and safety to ensure they have the latest knowledge and information to hand.
Starting rate for the first year of the apprenticeship will be £6.40 per hour, however this will increase on a yearly basis in line with our apprentice pay structure – this will be discussed with candidates at the interview stage.
