Use your love for languages to enrich young lives
PGL is a world where children achieve the impossible.
Our residential adventure camps create extraordinary breakthroughs by instilling a love of adventure and the great outdoors, encouraging independence, and empowering them to achieve amazing things in the future.
Our purpose is to enrich the lives of children through the transformative power of adventure. Will you join us?
Being an EFL Teacher at PGL
Working with kids requires energy, confidence, and effort; but we guarantee it’s never, ever boring. Our EFL courses combine classroom-based English language lessons, sightseeing excursions, and our famous PGL outdoor activities to bring learning to life!
You will prepare and deliver fun and engaging lessons to our international guests, both in the classroom and outdoors, encouraging and motivating them to improve their English understanding.
You will receive a 3-day induction and support from an on-site Director of Studies who will guide you through pre-written weekly or fortnightly programmes for you to deliver (A1-B2 level), with the option to include your own resources that meet our Can Do philosophy. Class sizes are a maximum of 15 students.
Are you a PGL person?
You’ll need your Cambridge CELTA/Trinity Cert TSEOL or equivalent (PGCE in English/Modern Languages, Primary PGCE leading to QTS) combined with previous experience of teaching or delivering training in a classroom setting. Alongside your passion for teaching, your character is what we value most. PGL people are:
* Passionate about adventure and the great outdoors
* Friendly and thrive in team environments
* Determined and resilient (peak periods are challenging)
Above all, it’s our core values of FUN, SAFETY, QUALITY, INCLUSIVITY, TEAMWORK, and RESPECT that unite us.
A place to thrive
No matter your background, ethnicity, age, neurodivergence, or anything else, PGL is a place to be yourself, have fun, make lifelong friends, and celebrate what makes you brilliantly unique.
Fair pay and benefits for all
* Enjoy holidays! In addition to your annual leave, you’ll get your birthday off and paid volunteering days to support worthwhile causes.
* Access 24/7 to our Wellbeing Hub and Employee Assistance Program.
* Use our financial wellbeing platform for financial assistance if needed.
* Benefit from big savings and exclusive perks at hundreds of high street retailers, discounted holidays, and a 20% discount in all our on-site shops.
