Brake Press Operator – Aerospace Manufacturing (Junior / Entry–Mid Level)

An established manufacturing business is seeking a Junior / Entry–Mid Level Brake Press Operator to support the production of precision-formed aerospace components. This role involves forming aluminium parts to defined standards and is well suited to candidates with previous brake press or sheet metal experience who are looking to further develop their skills within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Training and support will be provided to help the successful candidate progress toward greater independence over time.
Key Responsibilities
Operate brake press machines to form aluminium aerospace components under guidance
Assist with machine set-up, tooling selection, and back gauge positioning
Work from engineering drawings, bend data, and job cards to produce components accurately
Load and run existing brake press programs, with opportunities to learn program editing
Carry out basic first-off and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards
Handle aluminium materials safely, including heat-treated aerospace grades
Support senior operators and engineering teams as required
Maintain safe working practices in line with HSE requirements
Carry out routine machine checks and basic housekeeping
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience operating or assisting on brake press machines
Background in sheet metal, fabrication, or precision manufacturing
Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions
Understanding of basic tolerances and quality requirements
Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience working with aluminium, particularly aerospace grades
Exposure to CNC brake presses or press brake programming
Aerospace or regulated manufacturing experience
