• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, Monday–Sunday (rota)
Client: Adult with C4/5 spinal cord injury, living at home.
The role
Deliver one-to-one, person-centred support across daytime hours: personal care, clinical tasks, community access and household support. You'll work within an established care plan alongside a supportive team.
Key duties
* Respiratory support: support an inspiratory muscle training programme; assist with Cough Assist and manual assisted cough as required.
* Bowel & bladder care: daily neurogenic bowel care (glycerine suppositories, digital stimulation, digital removal of faeces) and care around a suprapubic catheter.
* Moving & handling: safe transfers with full-body/gantry hoist; positioning, stretches and passive exercises to help manage spasticity and pain.
* Monitoring & escalation: watch for postural hypotension and signs of autonomic dysreflexia (AD) and act per plan.
You'll need
* Solid experience with spinal cord injury (SCI) care including bowel care, hoisting and respiratory support.
* Confident driver (large WAV).
* Due to intimate personal care, female applicants only (an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 Equality Act 2010).
